La'Marc-Foundation-Uganda

Many teen mothers drop out of school at an early age, the majority of whom did not complete primary seven, leaving them in a very precarious position where they neither find meaningful employment nor afford to start their own income-generating enterprises. As a result, they are unable to care for their children and themselves. La’ Marc aims to put an end to this suffering by providing opportunities for skill acquisition and self-employment in order to secure long-term economic well-being. Teen moms are recruited and taken through a six-month skills training course that is paired with business mentorship to ensure that by the end of the training, the teen mothers not only have the skills needed to make a living, but can also operate their own business successfully. This is accomplished through the provision of initial capital following training. Our staff ensure continuous monitoring and financial literacy till each business achieves its first anniversary.
